What Happened to Flight 7908?
Caspian Airlines Flight 7908 was a regular trip planned between two major cities. The plane was a Tupolev Tu-154, a type of aircraft used for many years.
The Flight's Start
The flight began at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport in Iran. It was supposed to land at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, Armenia. The plane was carrying many people, including families and individuals traveling for different reasons.
The Crash Event
About 16 minutes after taking off, the plane suddenly started to lose height very quickly. Air traffic controllers, who guide planes, lost contact with the aircraft. The plane crashed into a field, creating a large crater. The impact was very powerful, and sadly, there were no survivors.
Why Did It Happen?
After the accident, experts began a detailed investigation to find out what caused the crash. They looked at the plane's parts, especially its engines, and studied the flight recorders. These recorders, often called "black boxes," record flight data and cockpit voices.
The investigation found that a serious mechanical problem caused the crash. One of the plane's engines had a major failure. This type of failure is called an "uncontained engine failure." It means that parts of the engine broke apart and flew out, damaging other important parts of the aircraft. This damage made it impossible for the pilots to control the plane, leading to the tragic accident.
Remembering Those Lost
The crash of Caspian Airlines Flight 7908 was a very sad event for many families and countries. People from different places, including Iran and Armenia, were on board. After the accident, people around the world shared their sadness and offered their support to those affected. Memorials were held to remember the lives lost.
