In 2010, about 3,614 people lived in Castle Pines. This area has changed over time. In 2007, the northern part of Castle Pines became an official city. It was named the City of Castle Pines North. The southern part stayed as Castle Pines.

Later, in 2010, the City of Castle Pines North changed its name. It became the City of Castle Pines. At the same time, the original Castle Pines CDP was renamed Castle Pines Village.
