Cave City is a small city in Arkansas, a state in the United States. It is located across two counties: Independence and Sharp. In 2020, about 1,922 people lived there.

The city got its name from a large cave found beneath the Crystal River Tourist Camp. This camp is actually the oldest motor court in Arkansas! Cave City is also famous for its super sweet watermelons. They even have an annual watermelon festival every July.

Where is Cave City Located?

Cave City is found at coordinates 35°56′53″N 91°33′3″W / 35.94806°N 91.55083°W / 35.94806; -91.55083. A special feature of the town is the Crystal River. This is an underground river that flows through the Crystal River Cave, which is how the city got its name. No one has ever found where this underground river starts or ends!

The city covers a total area of about 6.62 square kilometers (2.56 square miles). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water inside the city limits.
