Cayuse is a small place in Umatilla County, Oregon, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). Cayuse is located about 11 miles (18 km) east of Pendleton. It is found within the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The name "Cayuse" comes from the Cayuse people, a Native American tribe.
In the past, Cayuse had a railroad station and its own post office. The post office first opened in 1867. It served the community for many years before closing in 2002.
