Cedro Abajo is a special kind of area called a barrio. It is located in the town of Naranjito, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 4,627 people lived here. A barrio is like a neighborhood or a small district within a larger town or city.
History of Cedro Abajo
Puerto Rico became part of the United States after the Spanish–American War in 1898. This happened because of an agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898. After the war, the U.S. government counted the people in Puerto Rico. In 1899, the population of Cedro Abajo barrio was 977 people. Over the years, more and more people have come to live in Cedro Abajo.
