Cengiz Ünder (born on 14 July 1997) is a talented Turkish footballer. He plays as a right winger, which means he plays on the side of the field and helps both attack and defense. Cengiz currently plays for the Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe and is also a key player for the Turkey national team.

Club Career: Cengiz Ünder's Journey in Football
Starting Out: Early Days in Turkey
Cengiz Ünder began his professional football journey at a club called Altınordu. After showing his skills there, he moved to Başakşehir. In his first season with Başakşehir, Cengiz quickly became one of the best players in the league. He scored 7 goals in 32 games, which was a fantastic start in the Süper Lig.
Moving to Italy: Playing for Roma
On 16 July 2017, Cengiz joined the famous Italian club Roma. They paid about €13.4 million for him. He scored his first goal for Roma in a 1–0 win against Hellas Verona on 4 February 2018. This was in the Serie A, Italy's top football league.
In the same month, he made his first appearance in the UEFA Champions League, which is a huge competition for European clubs. He scored the first goal in a match against Shakhtar Donetsk. This made him the youngest Turkish player ever to score in the Champions League!
Loan to England: Time with Leicester City
On 20 September 2020, Cengiz moved to England to play for Premier League club Leicester City. This was a "loan" deal, meaning he played for them for one season, and Leicester had the option to buy him permanently later.
He played his first game for Leicester as a substitute in a match against West Ham United. On 25 October, he helped Leicester win a game against Arsenal by assisting Jamie Vardy's winning goal. This was a big moment, as it was Leicester's first win away at Arsenal in 47 years! Cengiz scored his first goal for Leicester on 10 December in a UEFA Europa League match against AEK Athens.
Playing in France: Joining Marseille
On 4 July 2021, Cengiz went on another loan, this time to the French club Marseille in Ligue 1. They also had an option to buy him for €9 million. He made his debut for Marseille on 8 August 2021, helping them win 3–2 against Montpellier.
Marseille was happy with his performance, so on 6 April 2022, they decided to sign him permanently. He signed a five-year contract with the club.
Back to Turkey: Playing for Fenerbahçe
On 13 August 2023, Cengiz returned to Turkey and signed a four-year contract with Süper Lig club Fenerbahçe. The transfer fee was reported to be around €15 million. He played his first game for Fenerbahçe on 21 August 2023, in an away match against Samsunspor, which Fenerbahçe won 2–0.
He scored his first goal for Fenerbahçe on 20 December 2023, in a league match against Kayserispor. Fenerbahçe won that exciting game 4–3. After a bit of a slow start, Cengiz really shined on 7 January 2024, when he scored four goals in a single game! Fenerbahçe won that match 5–1 against Istanbulspor.
International Career: Representing Turkey
Cengiz Ünder has played for different youth teams for Turkey, including the Under-18, Under-19, and Under-21 teams.
In November 2016, he was called up to play for the senior Turkey squad for the first time. This was a big step in his career! He scored his first goal for his country in his second game, which was a friendly match against Moldova in March 2017. He has continued to be an important player for the Turkish national team.
