Chane Xavier Behanan (born September 24, 1992) is an American professional basketball player. He is known for winning a national championship with the Louisville Cardinals college team. After his college career, he decided to enter the 2014 NBA draft but was not selected by any team.

Chane Behanan's Early Life
Chane Behanan was born and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. His childhood home was destroyed in a fire. After this, he and his family moved in with his grandmother. Chane's mother later decided that Cincinnati was not the best place for him at that time. She used family connections to send him to Bowling Green, Kentucky before his junior year of high school.
High School Basketball Success
During his senior year at Bowling Green High School, Chane was a star player. He scored an average of 23.3 points per game. He also grabbed 14.4 rebounds per game. These numbers show how talented he was on the court.
Chane had first planned to play college basketball at Cincinnati. However, he changed his mind and decided to play for Louisville. He later shared that this change might have been very important for his life. He felt that staying in Cincinnati might have led to difficult situations.
College Basketball Career

Freshman Year Highlights
In his first year, Chane averaged 9.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. He played about 26 minutes in each game. He helped the Cardinals reach the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament. They lost to Kentucky, who went on to win the national championship. Chane also did well in his studies, making the Dean's List in his first two semesters.
Winning a National Championship
Chane returned for his second year, even though he hoped to play in the NBA. He averaged 9.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He played about 26.1 minutes each game. He helped lead the Louisville Cardinals to win the 2013 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. This was Louisville's third national championship. However, this championship was later removed from the official records by the NCAA.
Challenges and Departure from Louisville
Before the 2013–14 season, Chane faced some challenges. His coach, Rick Pitino, suspended him for breaking team rules. Chane was allowed to play again for a short time. In the 12 games he played that season, he averaged 7.6 points and 6.3 rebounds. On December 30, 2013, Coach Pitino announced that Chane was no longer part of the team. Chane later said he was dismissed for breaking university rules.
After leaving Louisville, Chane enrolled at Colorado State University. However, he decided to enter the 2014 NBA draft before playing any games for Colorado State.
Professional Basketball Journey
Chane Behanan was not chosen in the 2014 NBA draft. However, he continued his basketball career professionally.
Early Professional Teams
On November 1, 2014, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers selected him in the NBA Development League Draft. He played 13 games for them, averaging 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds. He later signed with Soles de Mexicali in Mexico in November 2015.
In February 2016, he joined Santeros de Aguada in Puerto Rico. He helped them reach the semifinals of their league. He was a strong candidate for the league's Most Valuable Player award, averaging 17.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
Moving Between Teams
Chane also played for the NBA Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League in 2016. He later returned to the Reno Bighorns in October 2016, where he averaged 8.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 19 games. In February 2017, he was traded to the Salt Lake City Stars.
He signed with the Kia Picanto in the Philippines in July 2017. However, he was not allowed to play because he was taller than the league's height limit for foreign players. He then signed with Aquila Basket Trento, an Italian club, in July 2017. He left the team in December 2017, averaging 11.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
In September 2019, Chane signed with Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim B.C. in Israel. He left the team before playing a game. In March 2020, he signed again with Santeros de Aguada in Puerto Rico.
The Basketball Tournament
Chane Behanan also played in The Basketball Tournament in 2018. He was part of the Tim Thomas Playaz team. In their first game, he scored 12 points and had 8 rebounds. His team lost that game to Team Arkansas.
