Let's think about an atom of hydrogen. It has a proton (positive charge) and an electron (negative charge). If you performed charge conjugation on it, you would get an anti-hydrogen atom. This anti-atom would have an antiproton (negative charge) and a positron (positive charge). The mass of these particles would not change.

If a system behaves exactly the same way after charge conjugation, we say it has "C symmetry." This means it is symmetric with respect to charge conjugation.

What is Charge Conjugation?

Charge conjugation is like looking at a mirror image of the universe. But instead of left and right being swapped, all particles are replaced by their antiparticles. This means their electric charges are reversed.
