Charles Edward Ramsey (born March 25, 1961) is an American athlete and a coach for college basketball teams. He used to be the main coach for the men's basketball team at Eastern Michigan University.
Growing Up and Playing Sports
Charles Ramsey grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He went to Ypsilanti High School and graduated in 1979. While in high school, he was a talented athlete, playing on the baseball, basketball, and football teams.
After high school, he played college basketball for Fisk University from 1979 to 1981. During his time there, he was recognized as an All-American in 1980. This means he was considered one of the best college basketball players in the country that year! Later, in 1992, Ramsey earned his degree from Eastern Michigan University.
Charles Ramsey was also honored by being added to the Ypsilanti High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of a group called Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

In 2005, Charles Ramsey became the head coach at his old school, Eastern Michigan. He coached there until 2011. During his time as head coach, Ramsey won 68 games. This number places him fifth on the list of all-time winningest coaches for Eastern Michigan University. The coach with the most wins is Ben Braun, who had 185 victories.
In 2008, Ramsey was inducted into the Ypsilanti High School Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches, which is a group for basketball coaches.
Family Life
Charles Ramsey lives in Ypsilanti. He has two sons, Charles (Tre’) and Chandler, from his first marriage. He later remarried Janel N Ramsey on January 1, 2019, and they have a son named Jaden and a daughter named Ciara.
