Charles Brown Jr. is a professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on February 2, 1997. He currently plays for the Raptors 905 team in the NBA G League. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the Saint Joseph's Hawks.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Brown was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in the northeast part of the city. He first went to Imhotep Institute Charter High School. Later, he moved to George Washington High School before his junior year.
Playing for Philly Pride
Before his senior year, he played for a team called Philly Pride. This team was part of the Amateur Athletic Union. In his senior year, Brown scored 18.4 points per game. He was named the MVP of the Philadelphia Public League's B Division.
College Scholarship and Prep Year
Brown first planned to go to West Chester University. However, he received a scholarship offer from Saint Joseph's University and accepted it. He decided to spend an extra year preparing for college. He went to the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Connecticut. There, he helped his team achieve a 31–6 record. They also reached the National Prep Championship game.
College Basketball Career
As a freshman at Saint Joseph's, Brown started in 30 of 31 games. He averaged 12.8 points and five rebounds per game. He also shot well from the three-point line and free-throw line. He was chosen for the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Rookie team.
Injury and Return to Play
Before his second year, he was expected to be a top player. But he broke his wrist during practice. This injury made him miss the entire season. He had to use a medical redshirt year.
When he returned as a redshirt sophomore, Brown was a star. He led the Atlantic 10 conference by scoring 19.0 points per game. He also averaged 6.2 rebounds. He earned second-team All-Atlantic 10 honors. In his college career, Brown scored 1,006 points and grabbed 352 rebounds in 63 games. After this season, he decided to enter the 2019 NBA draft. This meant he would not play his final two years of college basketball.
Professional Basketball Journey
Atlanta Hawks (2019–2020)
Brown was not chosen in the 2019 NBA draft. However, he signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks on June 21, 2019. He officially joined the team on July 1, 2019. Brown played his first NBA game on November 6, 2019, against the Chicago Bulls. He scored two points and had one rebound in that game.
Iowa Wolves (2021)
On December 11, 2020, Brown signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was waived eight days later. On January 25, 2021, he joined the Iowa Wolves in the NBA G League. He played 13 games for them. He averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds. He also led the team in steals.
Oklahoma City Thunder (2021)
On April 25, 2021, Brown signed a 10-day contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He signed a second 10-day contract on May 5. Ten days later, he signed a multi-year contract with the team. However, on September 26, 2021, the Thunder waived him.
Delaware Blue Coats (2021)
On October 20, 2021, Brown's rights were traded to the Delaware Blue Coats. He signed with the Blue Coats five days later. In 11 games, he averaged 16.8 points and 8.1 rebounds. He also had good numbers in steals and blocks.
Dallas Mavericks (2021–2022)
On December 23, 2021, Brown signed a 10-day contract with the Dallas Mavericks. He played in three games for the Mavericks.
Philadelphia 76ers (2022)
On January 2, 2022, Brown returned to the Delaware Blue Coats. The next day, he signed a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. On January 11, he signed a two-way contract with the 76ers. Brown made his first NBA start for the 76ers on January 19, 2022, against the Orlando Magic.
Return to Delaware (2022–2023)
On November 3, 2022, Brown was part of the opening night roster for the Delaware Blue Coats. He helped the team win the NBA G League title in 2023.
New York Knicks (2023–2024)
In July 2023, Brown joined the New York Knicks for the 2023 NBA Summer League. On September 8, he signed a contract with them. On October 21, the Knicks changed his deal to a two-way contract.
On October 2, 2024, Brown was part of a three-team trade. He was signed and traded to the Charlotte Hornets. However, on October 18, the Hornets waived him.
Raptors 905 (2024–present)
On October 28, 2024, Brown joined the Raptors 905. On November 19, he tied a G-League record. He recorded 9 steals in a game against the Capital City Go-Go. This record was broken 20 days later by another player.
Personal Life
Charlie Brown Jr.'s father, Charlie Brown Sr., also played college basketball. He played for North Carolina A&T for two years. After that, he played professionally overseas. His career ended due to an Achilles tendon rupture injury.
