About Charlotte Booth
Charlotte Booth studied Egyptian Archaeology at University College London. She earned both her first degree and her master's degree there. After finishing her studies, she started teaching at Birkbeck, University of London.
Her Research and Studies
Charlotte focused on the Hyksos period of Egypt during her university years. This was a time when a group called the Hyksos ruled parts of Egypt. In 2018, she earned her PhD (a very high university degree) from the University of Birmingham. Her research looked at old paper copies of ancient Egyptian monuments. These copies help archaeologists study ancient carvings and writings.
Teaching and Writing
Charlotte Booth also teaches online lessons about Egyptian history. Her website, CharlotteEgypt, offers courses on topics like hieroglyphics (the ancient Egyptian writing system) and what daily life was like in Ancient Egypt. She has written many books for everyone, not just experts, about different parts of Egyptology. Egyptology is the study of ancient Egypt.
Archaeology in the Field
In 2015, Charlotte worked as an archaeologist for Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA). She was on site at the Bedlam dig in Liverpool Street, London. This means she helped dig up and study old things found in the ground.
On Television
Charlotte Booth has also appeared on several history television shows. One show was on Channel 5 (UK) called "Cleopatra: Mother, Mistress, Murderer, Queen." It aired in April 2016.
