Charul Malik is a well-known news anchor and actress. She became famous for playing the character Russa in TV shows like Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan on &TV. Before acting, Charul worked as a news anchor and editor for channels such as India TV and Aaj Tak. Later, she decided to leave news reporting to focus on her acting career.

Charul Malik's Early Life
Charul Malik was born in Delhi, India, in 1985. Her family is from Faridabad in Haryana. Soon after she was born, her parents moved to Chandigarh.
Her father, G.S. Malik, is a respected lawyer. He works at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Her mother, Asha Malik, is a teacher in Chandigarh. Charul has a twin sister named Parul. She also has a younger brother named Gaurav Malik.
After finishing Class 10, Charul studied arts in Class 12. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors. She also completed a law degree (LL.B.).
Charul shared that she spent much of her childhood watching television with her family. Back then, Doordarshan was the main TV channel. News anchors like Salma Sultan and Nalini Singh were her heroes.

Starting in Journalism
Charul Malik began her career at Jain TV News Channel. She got the job through an open interview. She quickly became one of the best news readers. Famous TV personalities like Prannoy Roy and Vinod Dua praised her clear way of speaking. Charul said their compliments gave her more confidence.
Before joining STAR News (now ABP News), Charul worked at Sahara Samay Channel. She was a main anchor at STAR News since 2006. She delivered news regularly there.
Moving into Acting
Charul also started acting in television shows. One of her notable roles was in the popular series Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!. This marked a new chapter in her career.
Awards and Special Recognition
Charul Malik has received several awards for her work. She is the only news anchor in the world to conduct a live interview while on skates. This unique achievement was recognized by the Limca Book of Records.
In 2014, Charul was given the News Television Award. She won for "The Best News Anchor Entertainment." She also received the MY CITY award for Best Entertainment News Anchor for 2014-2015.
Charul was nominated for the Best Anchor award at the Asian Viewers Television Awards (AVTA). She almost won, but Barkha Dutt from NDTV took the award in the final round.
