The Pittsburgh Steelers picked Chase Claypool in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. He was the 49th player chosen overall. On July 22, 2020, he signed a four-year contract with the Steelers.

In his second game, Week 2, against the Denver Broncos, Chase caught three passes for 88 yards, including an 84-yard touchdown. The Steelers won that game. In Week 5, playing against the Philadelphia Eagles, Chase had an amazing game. He gained 110 receiving yards and scored four touchdowns (three receiving and one rushing). This made him the first Steelers rookie ever to score four touchdowns in one game! His great play helped the team start the season with a 4–0 record. He was even named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.

Chase had a very successful first year in the NFL. He caught 62 passes for 873 yards and scored 9 receiving touchdowns, plus two rushing touchdowns. He was recognized for his great rookie season by being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. In the playoffs, he caught 5 passes for 59 yards and scored two touchdowns, though the Steelers lost that game.

In 2021, his second season, Chase played in 15 games. He had similar receiving yards and catches as his rookie year, but scored two touchdowns. He missed two games due to injuries. During a game against the Minnesota Vikings, there was a moment where a celebration after a first down took too much time off the clock, which was a learning experience for the team in a close game.

Time with the Chicago Bears

On November 1, 2022, Chase was traded to the Chicago Bears. The Bears gave up a second-round draft pick to get him.

Things were a bit challenging during his time with the Bears. At one point in the 2023 season, he was asked to stay home while the team looked for a trade partner. As a Bear, he played in ten games, catching 18 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown.

Moving to the Miami Dolphins

On October 6, 2023, the Bears traded Chase Claypool to the Miami Dolphins. He caught his first pass with the Dolphins in Week 8 against the New England Patriots.

Brief Stint with the Buffalo Bills

On May 3, 2024, Chase signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills. However, he was placed on injured reserve in August due to a toe injury and was later released.
