Chaumont-Gistoux is a charming town in Belgium. It's located in the Walloon Brabant province, which is part of Wallonia. In 2006, about 10,926 people lived here. The town covers an area of 48.09 square kilometers. This means there were about 227 people living in each square kilometer.
This area was formed in 1977 by joining several smaller villages. Before that, in 1971, Dion-Valmont was created by combining Dion-le-Val and Dion-le-Mont. The main offices for the town are now in the village of Gistoux.
Chaumont-Gistoux is a mix of countryside and small industries. You can still see many working farms, large fields, and beautiful forests. There used to be a big industry here for digging up sand, but that's mostly stopped now. Because of this history, many companies that move things or build things are based here.
