Cheri Maracle finished high school in 1989. When she was 17, she moved to Vancouver. There, she studied acting at Capilano University and the Spirit Song Native Indian Theatre School. She belongs to the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

Acting Career

Cheri Maracle is well-known for her roles in TV shows like Blackfly and Moccasin Flats. She also starred in the 2007 film Tkaronto. On stage, she performed in plays such as Tomson Highway's Ernestine Shuswap Gets Her Trout.

She had a regular role on Degrassi: Next Class. She played Ms. Cardinal, who was the mother of Grace Cardinal. In 2017, she was in a musical documentary called The Road Forward. This film was about Indigenous history. In 2019, she acted in the play The Unnatural and Accidental Women.

Cheri Maracle has been recognized for her acting. She was nominated twice for the K.M. Hunter Theatre award. In 2014, she was nominated for a Canadian Screen Awards for her role in the TV series Blackstone. From 2006 to 2008, she worked with Turtle Gals, a theatre company for Aboriginal women.
