Chidester is a small city in Arkansas, United States. It is located in the northwest part of Ouachita County. In 2020, about 253 people lived there. Chidester was founded in 1880 and officially became a city on February 14, 1906. It is also part of the larger Camden area.

Education in Chidester
Students in Chidester go to public schools managed by the Camden Fairview School District. This district helps students from elementary school all the way through high school. They graduate from Camden Fairview High School.
The Chidester School District used to be separate. But it joined with the Fairview School District on July 1, 1987. Later, the Fairview district also joined with the Camden School District in 1990. This created the Camden-Fairview School District we know today.
Before this, the Camden Fairview district ran Chidester Elementary School. This school was in a building that used to be Chidester Public School, a high school. The elementary school started in 1987, and its building was built in 1968.
