Plot: Kids vs. The World
This movie is about a group of brave kids. They live happy, carefree lives in a place called Chandan Nagar colony. But their world changes when their friend's dog is in danger. They decide to stand up against a powerful politician.
Meet the Chillar Party
The story begins by introducing eight main kids. Each child has a unique personality and a special nickname. For example, Akram is the fast bowler, also known as Ramashankar. Encyclopedia is the smart one, whose real name is Arjun. Together, they call themselves the "CHILLAR PARTY"!
They have two main rivals. One is a bigger cricket team from the neighborhood. The Chillar Party always loses to them. Their other enemy is a stray dog they call "Loose Motion." They dislike this dog because it often makes messes. So, the kids really don't like dogs.
A New Friend and a Big Problem
Soon, a boy named Fatka joins their colony. He works washing cars. Fatka brings his dog, Bhidu, with him. The Chillar Party tries everything to make Fatka and Bhidu leave. But they don't succeed.
Over time, the kids and Fatka become friends. Bhidu also becomes part of their group. Fatka even helps them win a cricket match against their rivals. He becomes their main bowler.
But their happiness doesn't last long. A powerful politician, Minister Shashikant Bhide, steps into their lives. His assistant gets hurt by Bhidu. This makes the minister very angry.
Fighting for Bhidu
Minister Bhide announces on TV that all stray dogs in Mumbai will be caught. He says this will make Mumbai safer. He declares a slogan: "Safe Mumbai and Safe Mumbaikar."
He also says Bhidu can only be saved if the colony gets a "No Objection Certificate" (NOC). This means they need permission from their neighbors. They have one month to get this certificate. To get it, they need more than half of the colony's residents to agree. This means 31 votes.
The Chillar Party is shocked. They work very hard to get the NOC. But after 15 days, they only have ten votes.
Creative Protests and a TV Interview
To get more votes, the kids try different plans. But nothing seems to work. Finally, they come up with a very unusual idea: a "Chaddi March." They march through the streets wearing only their underwear!
This unusual protest gets them on TV. Because of this, they get 10 more votes! With more hard work and by raising awareness, they get another 10 votes. Now they have 30 votes in total. Only one day is left before the deadline.
During all this, a TV channel invites Minister Bhide and the Chillar Party for an interview. The kids see this as their last chance to save Bhidu. They attend the interview, which is shown all over India.
The Final Stand
The kids know it's the last day. Dog catchers are already looking for Bhidu. They pray hard to save him. During the interview, Minister Bhide constantly makes fun of them. He asks if their "dirty tricks" were taught in school.
As he tells the TV channel to stop the broadcast, something amazing happens. Silencer, who usually never speaks, talks for the first time! He opens his textbook and reads loudly, "We must always help others." Then the other kids read, "A friend in need is a friend indeed" and "We must do what is right."
The audience is deeply moved and gives them a huge round of applause. Meanwhile, back at the colony, dog catchers are searching for Bhidu. The paper with the 30 votes is on the secretary Mr. Tandon's desk. Mr. Tandon doesn't like the Chillar Party and is friends with Minister Bhide. He was told to give Bhidu away.
The Chillar Party begs to leave the interview, and the interviewers agree. When they reach their colony, they are sad because Bhidu is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, Bhidu comes jumping in! He is wearing a collar that says "Bhidu - Chandan Nagar Society."
The kids are overjoyed to see Bhidu. Then they notice the NOC paper on the desk. It has the 31st signature – Mr. Tandon's! They saved Bhidu!
