Swara Bhasker (born on April 9, 1988) is an Indian actress. She is known for her roles in Hindi movies. Swara has won two Screen Awards and has been nominated for four Filmfare Awards.
She started her acting career in 2009 with the movie Madholal Keep Walking. She became more widely known in 2011. This was for her role in the popular romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu. Her performance earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Swara Bhasker also received praise for her work in the romantic drama Raanjhanaa (2013). This role led to another Filmfare Award nomination. In 2015, she appeared in the sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns. She also starred in the family drama Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Both of these movies were very successful. Her main roles in the independent films Nil Battey Sannata (2016) and Anaarkali of Aarah (2017) were also highly praised. She won the Screen Award for Best Actress (Critics) for Nil Battey Sannata. Early Life and School
Swara Bhasker was born in Delhi, India, on April 9, 1988. Her father, C. Uday Bhaskar, was an officer in the Indian Navy. Her mother, Ira Bhaskar, is a professor who teaches about cinema.
Swara grew up in Delhi. She went to school at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. Later, she studied English at Miranda House, which is part of the University of Delhi. She then earned a master's degree in sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Acting Career Highlights
Before acting in movies, Swara Bhasker worked with a theater group in Delhi. She moved to Mumbai in 2008. Her first movie was Madholal Keep Walking in 2009. This film was shown at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival.
She then had a supporting role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's drama Guzaarish (2010). She also appeared in The Untitled Kartik Krishnan Project. This movie was known for being made on a very small budget.
Gaining Recognition
Swara Bhasker became widely known in 2011. This was when she played Payal in the popular movie Tanu Weds Manu. Payal was the best friend of the main character. Swara received many good reviews for her performance. She was also nominated for her first Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2013, she played the main role in Listen... Amaya. She also appeared in Raanjhanaa. This movie was one of the highest-earning Bollywood films that year. She received great reviews and another Filmfare Award nomination for her role as Bindiya.

Personal Life
On February 16, 2023, Swara Bhasker married Fahad Ahmad. They welcomed their daughter, Rabiya, on September 23, 2023.
