Christopher Rejean Brown (born April 17, 1981) is a former American football player. He was a talented running back in the National Football League (NFL). Chris played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes, where he was recognized as one of the best college players in 2002. The Tennessee Titans picked him in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Chris Brown's Early Life and High School Football
Chris Brown grew up in Naperville, Illinois. He was a star football player at Naperville North High School. During his senior year, he was named an All-American. He also earned first-team All-State honors.
Chris ran for 1,250 yards and scored 15 touchdowns in his senior season. Throughout his high school career, he gained 2,300 yards and scored 30 touchdowns. He even played with future NFL players like Justin McCareins and Glenn Earl.
Chris Brown's College Football Journey
Chris first went to Northwestern University for college. He later transferred to the University of Colorado. At Colorado, he became one of the school's top rushers.
In 2001, during his second year, he set a school record. He scored 6 touchdowns in one game against Nebraska. Chris continued his success in 2002. He was even considered a possible candidate for the Heisman Trophy. However, an injury later in the season caused him to miss some games. After that successful year, Chris decided to enter the NFL Draft early.
Chris Brown's Professional Football Career
Chris Brown played for two teams in the NFL. He started with the Tennessee Titans. Later, he joined the Houston Texans.
Playing for the Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans chose Chris Brown in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. This was the 93rd pick overall. In his first year, he missed some games due to a hamstring injury. Even so, he averaged 3.9 yards per carry. He gained 221 yards in total. He also played very well in the playoffs that year.
In the 2004 season, Chris became the starting running back for the Titans. He had a great start to the season. He finished with 1,067 rushing yards. He also led the entire NFL in yards per carry that year. However, several injuries made him miss games and affected his play.
Chris had surgery on both ankles in 2005. He still managed to run for 851 yards that season. In 2006, the Titans added new running backs to the team. Chris was sometimes not active for games. He finished his contract with the Titans. Then, he became a free agent.
On September 9, 2007, Chris had his best game for the Titans. He rushed for a career-high 175 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Playing for the Houston Texans
On March 13, 2008, Chris Brown signed a two-year deal with the Houston Texans. He played well for the Texans. He completed his two-year contract with the team.

Chris Brown has an older brother named Levelle Brown. Levelle used to play as a fullback in the Arena Football League. Chris also has a younger sister, LaShawndra Brown, who played Division III basketball. Today, Chris lives in Houston with his wife and their three children.
