Chris Owens, born on March 1, 1979, is a former professional basketball player from America. He is 6 feet 8 inches tall and played as a power forward. Chris had a long career playing for many teams around the world.

Chris Owens' College Basketball Journey
Chris started his college basketball journey at Tulane University. After one year, he moved to The University of Texas at Austin, where he finished his studies in 2002. During his time at Texas, he was a very talented player. Sadly, he had a knee injury in December 2001, which ended his season early.
Chris Owens' Professional Basketball Career
Chris Owens was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2002 NBA draft. This is when professional teams pick new players. However, he was then traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He played in one game for the Grizzlies in the NBA, which is the top basketball league in the United States. His only NBA game was on April 15, 2003, where he scored 4 points and got 1 rebound.
After his time in the NBA, Chris played for the Cedar Rapids River Raiders in another league called the United States Basketball League.
Playing Basketball in Europe
In 2004, Chris moved to Europe to continue his basketball career. He joined a team in Italy called Banca Nuova Trapani. He played 30 games with them, scoring about 19 points and getting 9 rebounds per game.
In 2005, he moved to a Spanish team, CB Granada. He played there for a few months. Later in 2006, he played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the Continental Basketball Association and for Panionios in Greece.
For the 2006–07 season, Chris played for ALBA Berlin in Germany. The next year, he moved to Galatasaray in Turkey.
Playing in Ukraine and Other Countries
In 2008, Chris went to Ukraine to play for BC Donetsk. He stayed there until 2010. After that, he played briefly for Panellinios in Greece.
In September 2010, Chris signed with BCM Gravelines in France. He played only a few games there before returning to Ukraine in November 2010 to play for Azovmash.
For the 2011–12 season, he played for KK Cedevita in Croatia. In 2013, he signed a one-year deal with KTP-Basket in Finland. His last team was Argentino de Junín in Argentina, where he played in 2014–2015.
Chris Owens' Family Connection
Chris Owens has a very famous great-uncle: Jesse Owens. Jesse Owens was a legendary track and field athlete from the 1930s. He won four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics!
