College Basketball Career

From 1996 to 1998, Chris played college basketball at Chipola College. He was named a JUCO All-American, which means he was one of the best players in junior college.

Then, he played for Auburn University for two years. In his junior year (1998–99), he helped Auburn reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. This is a big achievement in college basketball.

That same season, he was named the SEC Player of the Year. He was also chosen for the All-America team. The next year, Chris was on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine. This showed how highly people thought of the Auburn Tigers team. However, Chris faced a challenge that led to a suspension for the last eight games of that season.
