Christian Lucien Laflamme (born November 24, 1976) is a former professional ice hockey defenceman from Canada. A defenceman is a player who helps protect the team's goal. He played for famous teams like the Chicago Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, and St. Louis Blues.
Christian Laflamme's Hockey Journey
Christian Laflamme started playing hockey at a young age. When he was a kid, he played in the famous Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in 1989 and 1990. This is a big tournament for young hockey players from all over the world!
After playing well in junior hockey leagues, Christian was chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. This draft is where NHL teams pick young players they want to join their teams. He was the 45th player picked overall that year.
Christian began his NHL career with the Blackhawks. Later, he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers. A trade in hockey means players are swapped between teams.
