Christophe Jérôme Dugarry (born 24 March 1972) is a famous French former professional football player. He played as a forward, which means he was usually trying to score goals. Christophe Dugarry was a key part of the French team that won the World Cup in 1998 and the Euro 2000 championship.

He played for several big clubs during his career, including Bordeaux in France, AC Milan in Italy, and Barcelona in Spain. He also played for Marseille, Birmingham City in England, and Qatar SC before he retired.

Playing for Clubs

Starting at Bordeaux

Christophe Dugarry started his football journey in the youth teams at Bordeaux. He trained there alongside other future French football stars like Bixente Lizarazu and Zinedine Zidane. He spent eight years playing for Bordeaux as a professional, from 1988 to 1996. During this time, he scored 34 goals in 187 games.

In the 1995–96 season, Dugarry scored two important goals against AC Milan in a European competition called the 1995–96 UEFA Cup. These goals helped him get a transfer to play for AC Milan in Italy for the next season.

Moving to Italy and Spain

After joining AC Milan in 1996, Dugarry played 27 games and scored 5 goals. The following season, he moved to Spain to play for Barcelona. However, he only played 7 games there before returning to France.

Back in France and England

Dugarry then joined Marseille in France. Later, he returned to his old club, Bordeaux, where he played another 65 games and scored 9 goals.

In 2003, Dugarry moved to England to play for Birmingham City. He first joined them on a temporary deal, called a loan. He was the second player to join Birmingham City who had won the World Cup, which was a big deal for the club. He quickly became a fan favorite, scoring 5 goals in just 4 matches. This helped Birmingham City move away from the relegation zone and stay in the Premier League.

Because he played so well, Birmingham City signed him permanently in May 2003 for two years. However, he left the club less than a year later, saying it was for family reasons. He then signed a one-year contract with Qatar SC but didn't play any games for them. He officially retired from football in 2005. Later, he was honored by being added to Birmingham City's Hall of Fame.
