Chrysopaa is a special group, or genus, of frogs. It belongs to the frog family called Dicroglossidae. What makes Chrysopaa unique is that it has only one known species! This single species is named Chrysopaa sternosignata.

This interesting frog lives in parts of Balochistan, Pakistan, Kashmir (which is shared by Pakistan and India), and also in Afghanistan. People call it by several different names, like the Baluch Mountain frog, karez frog, Malir paa frog, or Murray's frog.

About the Chrysopaa Frog

The Chrysopaa sternosignata frog loves water. It spends most of its life in wet places. You can find these frogs in rivers, wet swamps, and freshwater marshes. They are quite common in the areas where they live.

These frogs are known for being very good at living in water. They are well-adapted to their watery homes. Scientists continue to study them to learn more about their lives.
