What is Chuck Finn About?
The story of Chuck Finn follows Charles "Chuck" Finn, a 13-year-old boy from Canada. He has just moved to a new town called Tingalla in South Australia, right by the Murray River. At first, Chuck misses his old home in Toronto and wants to go back.
But then, he discovers an old, run-down paddle steamer called The Tingalla Rose. This boat is special because it's home to two friendly ghosts! One is Elvira "Fingers" Fitzpatrick, a woman from the Victorian era. The other is Buddy Berry, a rock and roll singer from the 1950s. Both of them were passengers on the boat when they passed away.
Chuck quickly makes new friends in Tingalla. His friends include Hamish, Becky, Linda, and Sarah McDonald. Sarah's dad is actually the captain of The Tingalla Rose. As Chuck spends more time with his new friends and the ghostly residents of the boat, he starts to feel like Tingalla is his new home.
Throughout the series, Chuck and his friends work hard to get The Tingalla Rose working again, just like it did many years ago. They also have to deal with a rival boat called The River Queen. Plus, they often face challenges from the local bully, Theodore "Tiny" Maloney, and his friends, Davo and Spider.
