Charles "Chuckie" Robinson III was born on December 14, 1994. He is an American professional baseball player who plays as a catcher. He is currently part of the Los Angeles Dodgers team. Before joining the Dodgers, he played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox.

Chuckie Robinson's Early Baseball Days

Chuckie Robinson grew up in Danville, Illinois. He went to Danville High School.

After high school, Chuckie played college baseball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. He played for three seasons. For his first two years, he was a backup catcher. This means he was ready to play if the main catcher needed a break.

In his third year, Chuckie played really well. He had a batting average of .288. He also hit seven home runs and helped his team score 44 runs batted in (RBIs). Because of his great performance, he was named first team All-Conference USA.

Chuckie's Professional Journey

Starting with the Houston Astros

The Houston Astros picked Chuckie Robinson in the 21st round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. After signing his contract, he started playing for their minor league teams. He played for teams like the Tri-City ValleyCats and the Quad Cities River Bandits.

He kept working his way up through the Astros' minor league system. He played for the Buies Creek Astros and the Corpus Christi Hooks. In 2019, he played 103 games for the Hooks. He hit seven home runs and had 36 RBIs that season. He even played baseball in Australia during the off-season. In 2020, he did not play because the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Playing for the Cincinnati Reds

In December 2020, the Cincinnati Reds chose Chuckie in a special draft for minor league players. He played for the Chattanooga Lookouts in 2021. He hit eight home runs and had 24 RBIs in 66 games. In 2022, he started with the Lookouts again. Soon after, he moved up to the Louisville Bats, which is a higher level minor league team.

Chuckie made it to the Major Leagues with the Reds on August 11, 2022. He played his first MLB game on August 24, 2022. He started as the catcher and got his first hit in that game. On August 29, he hit his first career home run. It was a two-run home run against the St. Louis Cardinals. After the 2022 season, he became a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team.

However, he re-signed with the Reds in December 2022. He spent the entire 2023 season with the Triple-A Louisville Bats. He had a very good year, batting .290 with 13 home runs and 74 RBIs. He also stole 7 bases. After the 2023 season, he became a free agent again.

Time with the Chicago White Sox

On December 7, 2023, Chuckie signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. In June 2024, the White Sox added him to their main roster. He played 26 games for the White Sox.

Moving to the Los Angeles Angels

On December 18, 2024, Chuckie Robinson was traded to the Los Angeles Angels. He started the 2025 season playing for their Triple-A team, the Salt Lake Bees. In 27 games for the Bees, he batted .272 with one home run and 18 RBIs. The Angels later removed him from their main roster on May 28, 2025.

Joining the Los Angeles Dodgers

On May 31, 2025, the Los Angeles Dodgers claimed Chuckie Robinson. This means they picked him up after the Angels removed him from their roster. He was later sent to the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets on June 5, 2025.

Chuckie's Baseball Family

Baseball runs in Chuckie Robinson's family! His father, Charles Robinson Jr., was also a catcher. He played in the minor leagues for the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs. Chuckie's grandfather, Charles Robinson Sr., also played as a minor league catcher for the Chicago White Sox.
