Charles Robinson III, often called Chuckie, was born on December 14, 1994. He is an American professional baseball player who plays as a catcher. Currently, he plays for the Los Angeles Angels in Major League Baseball (MLB). Before joining the Angels, he also played for the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox.

Chuckie's Early Baseball Days
Chuckie Robinson grew up in Danville, Illinois. He went to Danville High School there.
After high school, Chuckie played college baseball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. He played for them for three seasons. For his first two years, he was a backup catcher. After his second year, he played summer baseball for the Ocean State Waves. In his junior year, Chuckie was a star player. He hit for a .288 average. He also hit seven home runs and had 44 runs batted in (RBIs). Because of his great play, he was named first team All-Conference USA.
Becoming a Professional Player
Starting with the Houston Astros
The Houston Astros picked Chuckie in the 21st round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. This meant he could start his professional baseball journey. After signing, he joined the Tri-City ValleyCats.
In 2017, Chuckie played for the Quad Cities River Bandits. The next year, he moved up to the Buies Creek Astros. He hit .239 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs that season. In 2019, he played for the Corpus Christi Hooks. He hit seven home runs and had 36 RBIs in 103 games. After this season, he played winter baseball in Australia for the Canberra Cavalry. Chuckie did not play in 2020. This was because the minor league season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Playing for the Cincinnati Reds
On December 10, 2020, the Cincinnati Reds chose Chuckie in the Rule 5 draft. He spent 2021 with the Chattanooga Lookouts. He hit .248 with eight home runs and 24 RBIs in 66 games. In 2022, he started with Chattanooga again. Soon after, he was moved up to the Louisville Bats.
Chuckie got called up to the Reds' main team on August 11, 2022. He made his first Major League game on August 24. He played as a catcher and got one hit. This was a special moment. On August 29, Chuckie hit his very first career home run. It was a two-run shot against the St. Louis Cardinals. After the season, he was sent back to Triple-A Louisville. He then became a free agent.
On December 5, 2022, Chuckie signed again with the Reds. He played the 2023 season with Triple-A Louisville. He played in 101 games. He had a great batting average of .290. He also hit 13 home runs and had 74 RBIs. After the 2023 season, he became a free agent again.
Time with the Chicago White Sox
On December 7, 2023, Chuckie signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. On June 16, 2024, the White Sox added him to their main roster. This was to keep him from leaving the team. He played in 26 games for the White Sox.
Joining the Los Angeles Angels
On December 18, 2024, Chuckie Robinson was traded. He joined the Los Angeles Angels.
Chuckie's Family and Baseball
Baseball runs in Chuckie's family! His father, Charles Robinson Jr., was also a catcher. He played in the minor leagues for the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs. Chuckie's grandfather, Charles Robinson Sr., also played baseball. He was a minor league catcher for the Chicago White Sox.
