The Church of La Milagrosa is a beautiful Roman Catholic church located in Madrid, Spain. It was once known as the Church of San Vicente de Paul. This church is quite large, covering about 900 square meters. You can find it on Calle García de Paredes.

The church was built a long time ago, between 1900 and 1904. Two talented architects, Juan Bautista Lázaro de Diego and Narciso Clavería y de Palacios, designed it. The building has a mix of styles. Its outside looks like Neo-Mudéjar architecture, which has a Spanish-Moorish feel. Inside, it mostly looks Neo-Gothic, like old European cathedrals.

The Church of La Milagrosa is easy to find in Madrid. It stands on García de Paredes street. This street corner is where it meets Fernández de la Hoz street. It's a well-known spot in the city.

When Was the Church Built?

Construction of the church began in 1900 and finished in 1904. The architects, Juan Bautista Lázaro de Diego and Narciso Clavería y de Palacios, worked together on this project. Juan Bautista Lázaro de Diego was known for his Gothic Revival architecture. Narciso Clavería y de Palacios was famous for his Moorish Revival architecture. Their combined styles made the church unique.

In 1977, the Spanish government decided to protect the church. It was listed as a building of historical importance. This means it is a special monument that needs to be preserved.

What Does the Church Look Like?

The outside of the Church of La Milagrosa shows Neo-Mudéjar designs. This style uses elements from old Spanish-Moorish buildings. The inside, however, is mostly Neo-Gothic. This means it has tall arches and detailed decorations, similar to grand Gothic cathedrals.

The church covers a large area of 900 square meters. The front of the church has two tall towers. Each tower has a square base and then turns into an eight-sided steeple at the top. In the past, the church also featured a beautiful mosaic artwork by Daniel Zuloaga.
