The Citroën Visa was a small car made by the French company Citroën. It was built in Rennes, France, from 1978 to 1988. The Visa was designed to be a simple and affordable car for everyday use. After ten years of production, it was replaced by the Citroën AX. Some versions of the Visa were even used by the National Police in France.

About the Citroën Visa

The Citroën Visa was known for its unique and sometimes unusual design. It was a hatchback car, meaning it had a rear door that swung upwards to allow easy access to the cargo area. When it first came out, it had a distinctive front end with a grille that looked like a single piece. Later versions had a more traditional look.

Different Types of Visas

Over the years, Citroën made several different versions of the Visa. These included:

  • Standard Models: Cars like the Visa Club and Visa Spécial were the basic models, offering simple and reliable transport.
  • Convertible: A special version called the Citroën Visa Cabriolet was also made. This car had a soft roof that could be folded down, letting you enjoy the open air while driving.
  • Sporty Versions: Citroën also created some exciting sporty versions of the Visa.
    • The Visa Chrono was a limited edition car designed for speed and performance. It had a powerful engine and a sporty look.
    • The Visa Mille Pistes was an even more special car. It was built for rally racing, which is a type of car race on challenging roads. This version had four-wheel drive to help it handle tough conditions.

Visa for the Police

In France, the National Police used some Citroën Visa cars. These cars were adapted for police work, helping officers patrol and respond to situations. Their small size and agility made them useful for driving in city areas.
