Clancy is a small community in Jefferson County, Montana, USA. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means the government tracks its population, even though it's not an official city.
In 2020, about 1,851 people lived in Clancy. This was an increase from 1,661 people in 2010. Clancy is also part of the larger Helena area.
The town started in 1873 as a place where people looked for gold. It was named after a gold prospector named William Clancey. A big fire in 1902 destroyed many of the buildings in the town.

Clancy is located in the northern part of Jefferson County. It sits in a valley where two creeks, Prickly Pear Creek and Clancy Creek, meet.
Clancy is surrounded by other communities. To the north is Montana City, and to the south is Jefferson City.
Getting Around Clancy
Interstate 15 (I-15) goes right through Clancy. You can get on or off the highway at Exit 182.
- If you drive north on I-15 for about 12 miles, you'll reach Helena. Helena is the capital city of Montana.
- If you drive south on I-15 for about 18 miles, you'll get to Boulder. Boulder is the main town for Jefferson County.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Clancy covers an area of about 101.4 square kilometers (39.17 square miles). All of this area is land. The community of Alhambra is also part of Clancy, located about 1 mile south.
