Clarence is a small city located in western Shelby County, Missouri, in the United States. It's a quiet place where people live and work.
In 2020, a count of all the people living there, called a census, showed that 738 people called Clarence home.

History of Clarence
Clarence was officially started in 1857. People say the town was named after Clarence Duff. He was the son of one of the first people to settle in the area.
A post office opened in Clarence in 1859. This meant people could send and receive letters and packages.
Where is Clarence Located?
Clarence is in the southwest part of Shelby County. You can find it along Missouri Route 151. It's also near U.S. Route 36.
The city is about ten miles east of Macon. Macon is in a nearby county called Macon County.
The United States Census Bureau says Clarence covers about 1.16 square miles (3.00 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.
