Claudio Daniel Husaín (born 20 November 1974) is a former professional football player from Argentina. He played as a midfielder, which is a player who helps both attack and defense.

Husaín played for several famous clubs. These include Vélez Sársfield and River Plate in Argentina. He also played for S.S.C. Napoli in Italy and Tigres de la UANL in Mexico. Later, he returned to Argentina to play for Newell's Old Boys.

Claudio Husaín's Club Career

Playing for Parma, Napoli, and River Plate

In the year 2000, Husaín joined Parma, an Italian club. However, he soon went on loan to River Plate in Argentina. This happened because of an earlier player transfer.

Later in 2000, he moved back to Italy to play for Napoli. Even though Napoli was moved down to a lower league, Parma sold him to Napoli in 2001.

Husaín stayed with Napoli for a while. But in January 2002, he went back to River Plate on loan again. He played another half season for Napoli. Then, in January 2003, he returned to River Plate for a third time.

Time with Tigres UANL

In July 2004, Claudio Husaín moved to Mexico. He joined a Mexican team called Tigres UANL.

Playing for Newell's Old Boys

Husaín then joined Newell's Old Boys in Argentina in July 2004. After playing for San Lorenzo for half a season, he returned to Newell's Old Boys. This was a one-year loan deal in January 2007.

Defensor Sporting and Audax Italiano

In August 2009, Husaín signed with Defensor Sporting, a team from Uruguay.

In January 2010, he joined Audax Italiano, a club in Chile. However, a big earthquake happened in Chile in February 2010. After the earthquake, Husaín decided to leave the team. This decision effectively marked the end of his football career.

Claudio Husaín's International Career

Claudio Husaín also played for his country, Argentina. He represented the Argentine national team in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world.

He also played in other important tournaments for Argentina. These included the 1997 Copa América and the 1999 Copa América.

Claudio Husaín has a brother named Darío Husaín. Darío was also a professional football player.

Claudio was often called El Turco, which means "The Turk." This nickname came from his family background. His ancestors were from Lebanon and Syria. In South America, people with Arab roots were traditionally called "Turks." This is because their families often came to the continent with documents from the Ottoman Empire in the 1900s.
