Clifton "Cliff" Pondexter (born September 15, 1954) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played as a power forward, a position where players are known for scoring and rebounding.

Early Life and College
Cliff Pondexter grew up in Fresno, California. He was a star basketball player at San Joaquin Memorial High School, where he played alongside his brother, Roscoe Pondexter.
After high school, Cliff played college basketball at California State University, Long Beach. He was a very talented player, which led to him being chosen in the 1974 NBA draft. The Chicago Bulls picked him as the sixteenth player overall. He was also chosen by the San Diego Conquistadors in the 1974 ABA Draft.
NBA Career with the Chicago Bulls
Cliff Pondexter's start in the NBA was delayed. In the summer of 1974, he suffered a stress fracture, which is a tiny crack in a bone. This injury meant he couldn't play right away. He finally made his professional debut in the fall of 1975.
Between 1975 and 1978, Pondexter played 197 games for the Chicago Bulls. His best season was 1975–76. During that year, he scored an average of 5.8 points and grabbed 5.1 rebounds per game.
However, his leg injury continued to affect his performance. He was released by the Bulls in the summer of 1978.
Playing in Europe
After his time with the Chicago Bulls, Cliff Pondexter continued his basketball career overseas. He played for several teams in Europe, showing his skills in different leagues. His international career lasted until 1986.
Family Connection
Cliff Pondexter's nephew, Quincy Pondexter, also became a professional basketball player. Quincy was chosen by the New Orleans Hornets in the first round of the 2010 NBA draft.
