Coconut Development Board facts for kids
The Coconut Development Board (CDB) is a special group set up by the Government of India. It works under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare. The main goal of the CDB is to help grow and use coconuts and all the products made from them. It focuses on making more coconuts and finding new ways to use them.
The Board started on January 12, 1981. Its main office, called the headquarters, is in Kochi, Kerala. The CDB also has several other offices across India to help with its work.

Where the CDB Works
The Coconut Development Board has offices in different parts of India to support coconut farming.
Main and Regional Offices
The main office of the CDB is in Kochi, Kerala. It also has regional offices in:
State Centres
Besides the main and regional offices, the CDB has six state centres. These centres help with local coconut development. They are located in:
- Bhubaneswar, Orissa
- Calcutta, West Bengal
- Patna, Bihar
- Thane, Maharashtra
- Hyderabad, Telangana
- Port Blair, in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Special Farms and Centres
The CDB also runs special farms and centres. These places help farmers learn new ways to grow coconuts. They also develop new coconut products.
Demonstration Farms
The Board used to have 9 Demonstration cum Seed Production (DSP) Farms. These farms show farmers the best ways to grow coconuts. They also produce good quality coconut seeds. Currently, 7 of these farms are still active.
Technology and Information Centres
The CDB has a Technology Development Centre near Aluva in Kerala. This centre works on new technologies for coconuts. It helps find better ways to process coconuts and create new products. There is also a Market Development cum Information Centre in Delhi. This centre helps share information about coconut products and find new markets for them.
