How Colchester Hunt Started
Colchester Hunt began in the 1970s. Before that, it was mostly farmland. This community was one of the first big neighborhoods built near Clifton, Virginia.
The houses in Colchester Hunt are built in a special way. They are often placed in one corner of their lot. This means some homes have very large side or back yards. Others have very big front yards.
When the houses were first built, they used septic tanks for waste. They still use this system today. At first, all the houses used electricity for heating and cooking. Later, gas lines were added. Many homes then switched to using natural gas.
