Colin Fassnidge is a famous chef, author, and TV star from Ireland. He's well-known for being a judge on the popular cooking show My Kitchen Rules in Australia. He also shares his cooking tips on the TV program Better Homes and Gardens.

Becoming a TV Chef
Colin Fassnidge has had a busy career in the kitchen and on screen. He used to run his own restaurants called Four in Hand and 4Fourteen. Now, he owns a restaurant called Banksia. He also runs The Castlereagh by Fassnidge bistro, which is a type of casual restaurant, at the City Tattersalls Club.
Judging My Kitchen Rules
Colin became a judge on the Australian cooking show My Kitchen Rules in 2013. From 2013 to 2019, he judged the cook-off and final rounds. Other judges included Liz Eagan, Karen Martini, and Guy Grossi.
In 2020, he became a main judge for the eleventh season, called MKR: The Rivals. He joined long-time hosts and judges Manu Feildel and Pete Evans. Colin returned to judge the cook-off and final rounds in 2022 for the twelfth season. He judged alongside Curtis Stone and Gary Mehigan. In 2023, he was again a main judge and co-hosted with Manu Feildel. Nigella Lawson also appeared as a judge in the cook-offs and finals.
Writing Cookbooks
Colin Fassnidge has also written two cookbooks. His first book, Four Kitchens, came out in 2014. His second cookbook, The Commonsense Cook, was released in 2020. These books share his recipes and cooking ideas with people at home.
Other TV Shows and Appearances
In January 2021, Colin appeared as a contestant on the seventh season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Australia. This show challenges celebrities to live in the jungle. He was the tenth person to leave the show, finishing in fifth place.
In March 2022, it was announced that Colin would host an Australian version of Kitchen Nightmares. This show helps struggling restaurants improve. It aired on Channel 7.
In 2023, Colin was a guest speaker at Winetopia Auckland. This was a special event about wine and food. It was the first time since 2020 that the event had international speakers.
In January 2024, Channel 7 announced that Colin would join Better Homes and Gardens. He became a food presenter on the show, sharing cooking tips with Karen Martini.
Life Outside the Kitchen
Colin Fassnidge married Jane Hyland in 2006. They met while working at the same restaurant. They have two daughters and live in Sydney, Australia.
