Colleen Celeste Camp (born June 7, 1953) is an American actress and film producer. She has appeared in many movies and TV shows. You might know her from films like The Swinging Cheerleaders or the Police Academy series.

Colleen Camp also played Julie's mom in Valley Girl. She was also Yvette the Maid in the fun 1985 movie Clue. She has continued to act in many different films. These include Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) and American Hustle (2013).

Early Life and Education

Colleen Camp was born in San Francisco, California. She grew up with her two brothers, Don and Glen. When she was young, her family moved to the San Fernando Valley.

She went to John H. Francis Polytechnic High School. Later, she studied at Los Angeles Valley College. She also attended California State University, Northridge. There, she studied English and theater arts.

Acting Career Beginnings

To help pay for college, Colleen had a unique job. She trained macaws at Busch Gardens. She performed for large crowds, sometimes up to 2,000 people! She did six shows a day, six days a week, during summers.

Colleen wanted to be an actress. She took acting and singing lessons. A talent agent noticed her after seeing her on a TV special. This special featured her and her birds. Soon, she was in national TV commercials.

These commercials led to small TV roles. She appeared in shows like Marcus Welby, M.D. and Happy Days. She also had a role in the miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man.

Film Roles and Notable Movies

Colleen Camp got her first small film roles in the mid-1970s. She was in Funny Lady with Barbra Streisand. She also appeared in Smile. In 1978, she played Ann Morris in the Bruce Lee movie Game of Death.

She was also in Francis Coppola's 1979 film Apocalypse Now. Most of her scenes were cut from the first version of the movie. However, more of her acting was shown in the Redux version. In 1979, she played Kristin Shepard in the TV show Dallas.

Colleen Camp worked often in comedy films. These include They All Laughed (1981) and Valley Girl (1983). She also starred in Clue (1985). She played a police officer in two Police Academy films. She also had a role in Die Hard with a Vengeance. In 1999, she was in the film Election.

In the late 1970s, Colleen Camp dated Dean Tavoularis. They met while filming Apocalypse Now in the Philippines. In 1986, she married John Goldwyn, who worked at Paramount Pictures. They later divorced in 2001.

In 2020, it was announced that Colleen Camp got engaged to Garrett Moore.
