History of Collyer
Collyer started as a settlement in 1879. It was named after a person named Rev. Robert Collyer. The city officially became a town in 1917.
Geography
Collyer is located at 39°2′13″N 100°7′3″W / 39.03694°N 100.11750°W. The city covers a total area of about 0.25 square miles (0.65 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.

Collyer used to have its own high school called Collyer High School. The school's mascot was the Collyer Wildcats. However, Collyer High School closed down in 1966.
