History of Coloma
Coloma started as a village in 1893. Later, in 1941, it officially became a city.
Geography and Nature
Coloma covers an area of about 0.89 square miles (2.30 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
The land around Coloma is very good for farming. This is because Lake Michigan helps keep the weather mild. This area is known as the Fruit Belt because many fruits grow here. Coloma is also part of the Lake Michigan Shore AVA, which is a special area known for growing grapes for wine.
Coloma is also close to Paw Paw Lake, which used to be a popular vacation spot.
