Complexe Desjardins is a huge group of buildings in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It's like a small city all in one place! It has offices, a hotel, and a big shopping mall. This complex is located in the Quartier des spectacles area, which is known for its fun events.
The Complexe Desjardins was built to help develop the eastern part of downtown Montreal. It sits between four main streets: Saint Catherine, Saint-Urbain, Jeanne Mance, and René Lévesque Boulevard.
The buildings are designed with several tall towers. These towers hold offices for the Desjardins Group, which is a large financial company. They also have offices for the Government of Quebec and other businesses. A hotel is also part of the complex. All these towers are connected by a large open space called an atrium. This atrium has a shopping center inside, making it feel like an indoor town square.
The Complexe Desjardins is also connected to Montreal's famous underground city. This means you can walk directly from the complex to other important places without going outside. You can reach Place des Arts, a big arts center, and the Place-des-Arts Metro station. You can also get to the Complexe Guy-Favreau, the Palais des congrès de Montréal (a convention center), and the Place-d'Armes Metro station.
The hotel in the complex has changed names a few times. It first opened in 1976 as the Hotel Meridien Montreal. Later, it became the Wyndham Montreal, then the Hyatt Regency Montreal in 2003. Since December 2018, it has been known as the DoubleTree by Hilton Montreal.
