Music Career and Influence

Cool Nutz is well-known for helping and promoting the hip-hop music scene in Portland, Oregon, and the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1992, he started Jus Family Records with Bosko Kante. His early music often used G-funk sounds. Over time, his style changed to include more vocal and instrumental samples in his songs.

In 1995, Scott helped create the Portland Oregon Hip-Hop (POH-Hop) Festival. He has worked very hard to build and support the hip-hop community in Portland. He has also worked with many famous rappers from the Bay Area, like "E-40" and "Yukmouth."

In 1997, he signed a group called G-Ism to his label, Jus Family Records. This group included Portland rappers Ray Ray and Young Randall. They released their first album, "On a Mission", in 1998. G-Ism later disbanded in 2001.

Cool Nutz is also a radio host. He hosts the Breakout Show on KXJM JAM'N 107.5. You can listen to his show on Sunday nights.
