Coping With facts for kids
The Coping With series of books is a collection of funny and helpful books. They were written by Peter Corey and published by Scholastic Hippo. These books are for young people aged 11 to 16. The first book, Coping with Parents, came out in 1989. The series ended in 2000 with Coping with Cash. Each book looks at common issues teenagers face. They offer humorous ways to deal with these challenges.
How the Books Are Put Together
Each Coping With book follows a similar, fun structure:
- The first part talks directly to you, the reader. It tries to convince you to buy the book!
- Next, the author introduces his pretend research team. One funny character is 'Elderado Dingbatti'. He often gets confused and falls in love with furniture!
- Then, you'll find a funny history lesson. It explains how the book's topic, like money or school, has changed over time.
- The biggest part is the A-Z section. This section lists many things related to the book's subject. They are arranged from A to Z. Sometimes, the author gets creative to use every letter. For example, "Xams (Exams)" for exams.
- Finally, the book finishes with extra notes and a message from the author.
