History of Corinth
Corinth has an interesting past! It was officially made a "town" by the Georgia General Assembly (which is like Georgia's state parliament) in 1839. The name "Corinth" comes from an ancient city in Greece.
A post office, where people could send and receive mail, was opened in Corinth in 1833. It stayed open for many years until 1914.
On May 1, 2000, Corinth stopped being an official "town." It became an unincorporated community, meaning it no longer had its own local government.
Where is Corinth?
Corinth is located in the southeastern part of Heard County and the southwestern part of Coweta County. It sits along Georgia State Route 100.

The United States Census Bureau says that Corinth covers an area of about 0.9 square miles (2.3 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
