The Story of Corn Beer
Corn beer has a very long history, especially in the Andes region of South America. It was made even before the famous Inca people lived there.
Archaeologists have found proof that women in the Wari culture were making corn beer a long time ago. This culture existed from about 600 to 1000 AD.
In 1796, a person named John Boston made corn beer in Sydney, Australia. This was the first time a fermented drink was made for sale in Australia.
You can even find old recipes for corn beer! One recipe is in a book from 1863. It's called Resources of the Southern Fields and Forests, Medical, Economical, and Agricultural. It was written by Francis Peyre Porcher.
