Corny Point is a small town in the Australian state of South Australia. It is located on the western side of the Yorke Peninsula. The town is about 7.5 kilometers east of the very tip of the peninsula.

The town gets its name from a nearby piece of land that sticks out into the sea, also called Corny Point.

History of Corny Point

The first land in the Corny Point area was claimed in 1846. This was a "pastoral lease," which meant someone could use the land for grazing animals. The person who first took up this lease was James Coutts.
