Correll Buckhalter (/kəˈrɛl/; born October 6, 1978) is a former American football player. He was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons. Correll played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was then picked by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2001 NFL draft. He played for the Eagles from 2001 to 2008. Later, he played for the Denver Broncos for two seasons (2009 and 2010).

Early Life and High School Football
Correll Buckhalter grew up in Collins, Mississippi. He went to Collins High School. He was a star football player there. In his last two years of high school, he ran for over 3,000 yards.
He was chosen for the all-state team. During his junior year, he gained 1,302 rushing yards. In his senior year, he rushed for 1,722 yards. He also scored 12 touchdowns. Correll graduated from Collins High in 1997.
College Football Career
Correll Buckhalter played college football at the University of Nebraska. He played in 46 games for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He finished his college career with 2,522 rushing yards. This placed him eighth in the school's history.
He had 11 games where he rushed for over 100 yards. He did this even though he only started nine times. Correll scored 27 touchdowns during his time at Nebraska. He studied sociology while in college.

Correll Buckhalter's NFL career was sometimes affected by injuries. He missed some seasons because of them.
Playing for the Philadelphia Eagles
In his first year, 2001, Correll showed his great potential. He shared playing time with Duce Staley. He rushed for 586 yards. He averaged 4.5 yards per carry. This broke a team record for rushing yards by a rookie. He scored two touchdowns that season.
Correll returned to the field in the 2003 season. He teamed up with Duce Staley and Brian Westbrook. He led the team in rushing attempts. He also led the team with eight rushing touchdowns. He gained 542 yards that year.
The 2006 season was his first full season back. He played in all 16 games. He rushed for 345 yards on 83 carries. He also caught 24 passes for 256 receiving yards. He scored three touchdowns that season. After this season, the Eagles signed him for two more years.
In 2007, he played as a running back. He also returned kicks. He had 313 rushing yards. He averaged 21.6 yards per kick return.
Time with the Denver Broncos
On February 27, 2009, Correll Buckhalter signed with the Denver Broncos. In 2009, his ninth NFL season, he had his best year. He rushed for 642 yards. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry. He also caught 31 passes.
In 2010, Correll played in 15 games. He rushed for 147 yards. He also caught 28 passes for 240 yards. He scored 4 touchdowns in total that year.
Personal Life
Correll Buckhalter is related to another NFL player. He is a cousin of Brandon McDonald. Brandon played cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Correll also owns a special horse. His Quarter Horse stallion is named 'Absolutely No Doubt.' This horse was a national champion in 2008. It won an award from the American Quarter Horse Association.
