Cory Nicholas Harkey (born June 17, 1990) is a former American football player and coach. He played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Currently, he works as a special teams quality control coach for the Green Bay Packers. Harkey joined the St. Louis Rams in 2012 after playing college football at UCLA.

Cory Harkey's College Football Career
Cory Harkey went to Chino Hills High School before playing college football at UCLA. He played in every game during his time there.
Freshman and Sophomore Years
As a freshman, he started seven games. He mostly helped block for his teammates. He also caught five passes for 40 yards and scored one touchdown. In his second year, he continued to be a blocker. He started four games in formations with two tight ends. He caught eight passes for 41 yards and scored another touchdown.
Junior and Senior Years
During his junior year, Harkey started every game for the UCLA Bruins. This was his best year for catching passes. He had 14 catches for 140 yards, ranking fifth on the team. In his senior year, he again started every game. He had one catch for 10 yards. After the season, the UCLA coaches gave him two special awards. These were the Jerry Long "Heart" Award and the Kenneth S. Washington Award.

Joining the St. Louis Rams
On May 8, 2012, the St. Louis Rams signed Harkey. He joined them as an undrafted free agent. This means he was not chosen in the NFL Draft but was signed afterward. At the end of the 2012 training camp, the Rams released him. However, they placed him on their practice squad.
Playing for the Rams
On November 17, 2012, Harkey was moved to the Rams' main roster. He played in his first game and was targeted once for a pass. He scored his first touchdown on October 13, 2013, against the Houston Texans. Harkey was often used as a fullback by the Rams.
In March 2015, Harkey signed a new one-year contract with the team. On December 13, 2016, he was placed on injured reserve due to a triceps injury. This meant he could not play for the rest of the season. On September 2, 2017, the Rams released Harkey from their team.

Cory Harkey's father is Mike Harkey. Mike Harkey was a professional Major League Baseball player. He is currently the bullpen coach for the New York Yankees baseball team. Cory has said that Tony Gonzalez is his biggest inspiration as a player. Tony Gonzalez was a famous tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons.
