Corydon (pronounced like COR-ih-dun) is a small city in Henderson County, Kentucky, United States. It's known as a "home rule-class city," which means it has the power to govern itself on local matters. Long ago, it was also a coal town, meaning coal mining was an important industry there. In 2020, about 737 people lived in Corydon.

History of Corydon
Corydon was first settled in 1849 by two brothers, John and William Dorsey. John's wife, Patsy, gave the city its unique name. She named it after a character in a famous 19th-century song called "Pastoral Elegy." This character, Corydon, was a lovesick shepherd from an even older poem by Virgil called Eclogues. The city officially became a town in 1867.
Geography of Corydon
Corydon is located in the western part of Henderson County. You can find it at these coordinates: 37°44′29″N 87°42′24″W. The main road through Corydon is U.S. Route 60. This road connects Corydon to other nearby towns. If you go northeast on Route 60, you'll reach Henderson, which is about 9 miles away and is the main city of the county. If you head southwest, you'll get to Morganfield, which is about 13 miles away.
The United States Census Bureau says that Corydon covers a total area of about 1.4 square kilometers (or 0.54 square miles). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large bodies of water like lakes or rivers within the city limits.

Even though Corydon is a small city, some notable people have come from there:
- Happy Chandler: He was a very important person in Kentucky politics. He served as the governor of Kentucky twice! He was also the Commissioner of Baseball from 1945 to 1951, which means he was in charge of professional baseball during that time.
- Frank Ramsey: He was a talented basketball player who played in the NBA. After his playing career, he also became a coach.
