Crabapple, Georgia facts for kids
Crabapple, Georgia, is one of the oldest parts of Fulton County, Georgia. You can find it today where Georgia Highway 140 and Georgia Highway 372 meet. This area is sometimes called "the Silos area."
The first people settled in Crabapple in 1874. The community got its name from a crabapple tree that grew near the original town site.
Crabapple was first part of Cherokee County, Georgia, which was created in 1832. Later, in 1857, it became part of Milton County, Georgia. Because of the Great Depression in 1932, Milton County joined with Fulton County.
The historic center of Crabapple has an old brick building. It sits at the crossroads of Crabapple Road-Mayfield Road, Birmingham Road-Broadwell Road, and Mid-Broadwell Road. In 2006, part of Crabapple became part of the new city of Milton. Today, Crabapple is split between the cities of Milton, Roswell, and Alpharetta.
Crabapple also hosts a fun event twice a year, in May and October. It's called the Old Times at Crabapple Antique Festival, where you can find many old and interesting items!

- Nap Rucker was a famous baseball player for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He was also a politician who served as the mayor of Roswell.
- Johnny Rucker, nicknamed "The Crabapple Comet," was another professional baseball player. He played for the New York Giants.
