Craig Michael Bartlett (born October 18, 1956) is an American animator. He is famous for creating and producing popular TV shows like Hey Arnold! for Nickelodeon, and Ready Jet Go! and Dinosaur Train for PBS Kids.

Craig Bartlett's Career in Animation
Craig Bartlett started his career after college. His first job was at Will Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon. There, he learned about stop-motion animation. This is a special way of animating where you move objects a tiny bit and take a picture, then repeat. He worked on movies like The Adventures of Mark Twain.
In 1987, Bartlett moved to Los Angeles. He animated the "Penny" claymation parts for Pee-wee's Playhouse on CBS. Claymation uses clay models that are filmed frame by frame. He also made an animated ad for NBC.
Working on Theme Park Rides and Music Videos
Later, Craig worked at BRC Imagination Arts. He directed projects for places like Knott's Berry Farm. He also animated the music video for "Jurassic Park". This song was by the famous musician "Weird Al" Yankovic.
Creating Hey Arnold!
Bartlett met people from Nickelodeon while working on Rugrats. He was a story editor for the first three seasons of Rugrats. In 1993, he showed Nickelodeon his idea for Hey Arnold!. He made a pilot episode in 1994. The show was officially approved in 1995.
Hey Arnold! was made by Bartlett's own company, Snee-Oosh, Inc., which he started in 1986. The show was produced from 1995 to 2001. It ended with a movie called Hey Arnold!: The Movie, released in 2002.
After a disagreement about another Arnold movie, Bartlett left Nickelodeon. He then created an animated TV movie for Cartoon Network called Party Wagon. This movie was meant to be a pilot for a new series.
In 2002, he also wrote a book based on the first Hey Arnold! movie. He wrote it with Maggie Groening.
Working with NASA and The Jim Henson Company
In 2005, Bartlett went back to BRC. He worked on a special attraction for NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It was called the Shuttle Launch Experience. For this project, Bartlett talked to 26 astronauts. He learned about their experiences during a space shuttle launch.
After this, Bartlett joined The Jim Henson Company. He helped write the animated movie Unstable Fables: 3 Pigs and a Baby. He also worked as a story editor for Sid the Science Kid. This was a PBS Kids show for young children.
New Shows: Dinosaur Train and Ready Jet Go!
In 2008, PBS Kids decided to pick up a new show created by Bartlett. It was called Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train. This was his first new show since Hey Arnold!. The show started on September 7, 2009.
In 2015, another show by Bartlett was picked up by PBS Kids. It was called Ready Jet Go!. This show was made by Wind Dancer Films and his company, Snee-Oosh, Inc. It first aired on February 15, 2016.
In 2015, Nickelodeon announced that Bartlett would return. He would write Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie. This movie premiered on November 24, 2017.
Craig Bartlett's Personal Life
Craig Bartlett went to Anacortes High School in Anacortes, Washington. In 1987, he married Lisa Groening. Lisa is the sister of Matt Groening. Matt Groening is famous for creating The Simpsons, Futurama, and Disenchantment. The character Lisa Simpson is named after Craig's wife. Craig and Lisa have two children, Matt and Katie.
