Cramer is a small, unincorporated community located in Lake County, Minnesota, United States. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
This quiet community is about 23 miles northeast of Silver Bay. You can find Cramer where Lake County Road 7 (also called Cramer Road) and Lake County Road 8 meet. It is also 11 miles west of Schroeder.
Several natural attractions are close to Cramer. These include Cramer Lake and Kowalski Lake. The beautiful George H. Crosby Manitou State Park is also nearby, offering outdoor adventures. If you travel 12 miles northeast on Lake County Road 7, you will reach the community of Finland. Cramer is part of an area known as the Lake No. 1 Unorganized Territory within Lake County.
Cramer's Past
Cramer had its own post office, which first opened in 1911. It served the community for several years before closing in 1917. The community was named after J. N. Cramer, who was an important early merchant in the area.
